They look like they're up to no good. Or perhaps they're up to something VERY good? 
Regardless, brilliant lighting and color variation. Digging the stark contrasts and general mood. 
As for the lineart style, I wouldn't worry about it. Very clean and exact. Though, I suppose you should go with whatever you're most comfortable with.
